Terms, Privacy, and Refunds

Welcome to AI Kingdom! This document governs your access to and use of the AI Kingdom game (the "Service"). It includes our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Terms of Service

1. Accounts

Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service.
Account Responsibility: You are responsible for safeguarding your account login credentials. You are also responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you have authorized them. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Account Security & Password Reset Key: To enhance your account security, you have the optional ability to generate a unique 12-word Password Reset Key via the in-game Settings page.
- You are solely responsible for accurately recording and securely storing this key.
- Due to our privacy-focused design which does not use emails, this Reset Key is the only method to recover your account if you forget your password.
- Our staff cannot view, recover, or bypass your Reset Key. If you lose both your password and your Reset Key, your account will be permanently inaccessible.
Conduct: You agree not to engage in any behavior that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. This includes cheating, exploiting bugs, creating or using multiple accounts (multi-accounting), or disrupting the experience of other players. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for any violation of these terms.
Account Inactivity: To maintain a dynamic and active game world, accounts that have been inactive for a period of six (6) months or more may be subject to permanent deletion. Inactivity is determined by your last recorded in-game activity. The deletion process follows the same rules outlined in the "Account Deletion" section of our Privacy Policy below.

2. AI-Generated Content and Player Interaction

Public Narrative: A core feature of AI Kingdom is its dynamic storytelling. Your interactions with the in-game AI—including commands to ministers and written solutions to Royal Memorials—are used as input to generate narrative content.
Visibility to Others: This generated content, such as your updated Kingdom and Ruler descriptions or a region's evolved story, becomes a part of the persistent game world. This information may be visible to other players through in-game actions like espionage, visiting your Palace, or interacting with NPCs.
License to Use Your Input: By submitting any content or input to the Service (such as commands, solutions, or messages), you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and adapt that input for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

3. Virtual Goods & Product Keys

How It Works: You purchase a unique Product Key from our official third-party seller, Gumroad.com. You then redeem this Key within the AI Kingdom game to receive the corresponding Virtual Goods.
A Note on Terminology: Our payment provider, Gumroad, may refer to the item you purchase as a "License Key". Please be aware that this is the same as the "Product Key" that you will redeem in-game. The terms are used interchangeably.
Product Keys: A Product Key is a unique, single-use code that grants specific Virtual Goods to your account upon successful redemption. You are solely responsible for keeping your Product Keys secure. Lost or shared keys will not be replaced.
One-Time Purchases: Certain items are limited to one per account to ensure game balance. This currently includes the "Ruler's Edict" starter pack and all Cosmetic Style sets. Our system will prevent you from redeeming a Product Key for an item your account has already acquired.
No Real-World Value: Virtual Goods and Product Keys are licensed to you, not sold. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and can only be used within the Service as intended.
Consequences of Game Loss: In the event your kingdom is conquered or goes bankrupt, your game session ends, resulting in the forfeiture of all in-game assets associated with that kingdom. However, your past support for the realm is recognized through the "Ruler's Legacy" system. As an exception to the forfeiture rule, should you choose to restart, your new kingdom will be granted a starting bonus based on your previous purchase history:
- A portion of the total Gold from all previously purchased gold packages will be granted to your new treasury.
- A bonus starting population will be granted for each cosmetic set you previously owned.
Please note: The exact amounts and percentages for the Ruler's Legacy bonus are subject to change at any time as part of ongoing game balancing. The current values are detailed in the in-game Store.
Payment Processing: All purchases of Product Keys are processed by Gumroad.com. We do not process payments or have access to your payment information, such as credit card details.

4. Service Availability and Termination

Service Changes: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
Termination: We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

All content included in the Service, such as text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and the game itself, is the property of AI Kingdom or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall AI Kingdom, nor its directors or employees, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your username. Your password is collected for authentication purposes but is stored only in a secure, hashed format.
Technical Information: We automatically collect your IP address and browser information for security purposes (e.g., rate limiting) and analytics.
Transaction Information: While we do not receive your payment details, we do store the redeemed Product Key in your purchase history. This is for verification purposes and to prevent a Key from being used multiple times.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate and maintain the Service.
To communicate with you about your account or important service updates.
To process your in-game redemptions and prevent fraud.
To improve the Service and player experience.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information with our payment provider (Gumroad) as necessary to process your transactions and with law enforcement if required by law.

4. Account Deletion

You have the right to permanently delete your account at any time via the in-game Settings page. When you delete your account, the following will occur:

What IS Deleted: The following data associated directly with your identity and kingdom will be permanently and irreversibly erased from our databases:
- Your User account (username, hashed password, and your Password Reset Key).
- Your Kingdom data (name, stats, descriptions, etc.).
- All buildings, ministers, events, memorials, and treaties associated with your kingdom.
- Any cosmetic styles you owned.
What IS NOT Deleted: To maintain the integrity and shared history of the game world, certain data representing your kingdom's impact on the world will be preserved anonymously:
- Territory: The land tiles your kingdom once owned will become unclaimed "ruins", preserving their shape on the world map for other players to colonize. Their unique, AI-generated stories will remain.
- World News & Announcements: Any World News events or global announcements you generated (e.g., "The kingdom of 'Your Name' has been dissolved") will remain as a permanent part of the historical record.
- Diplomatic Messages: Messages you sent to other players will remain in their inbox, but your name will be anonymized to "a forgotten realm".

Refund Policy

Our policy regarding refunds for purchased Product Keys is as follows:

All Sales Are Final: Due to the digital nature of the items, all purchases of Product Keys from our third-party provider (Gumroad) are final and non-refundable.
Redemption is Final: A Product Key is considered redeemed and the transaction complete at the moment the in-game Virtual Goods are successfully credited to your account. Once a Key has been redeemed, the action is irreversible.
Exceptional Circumstances: Refunds are not offered for redeemed Keys. We may only consider a replacement Key in the rare event of a verifiable technical error on our part that prevented you from receiving your Virtual Goods after a successful redemption was confirmed by our system.
Disputes: Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with Gumroad for a Product Key that has already been redeemed in-game is a violation of these terms. Doing so may result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your game account.
